Welcome to Springwood Academics

In the 17th century, English poet and political thinker John Milton published a tract entitled Of Education in which he asserted that “the end then of learning is to repair the ruins of our first parents by regaining to know God aright, and out of that knowledge to love him, to imitate him, to be like him.” Although penned nearly 400 years ago, that foundational truth of pursuing God through teaching and learning is a hallmark of Springwood School in the 21st century.

The vision of a Springwood School education is to nurture the whole student by developing their mind, body, and spirit so that they are equipped to think about and respond to a complicated, ever-changing world.  At Springwood School students engage in a range of learning experiences, facilitated by a committed faculty, to develop skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, effective communication, and meaningful collaboration.

Our academic, athletic, fine arts, and other co-curricular programs activate learning environments in which students discover, learn, inquire, think, and grow at all grade levels. Whether in the classroom, on the stage or athletic field, or through experiential learning opportunities, Springwood School provides numerous ways for students to explore their interests and talents. An enthusiastic student body, a passionate teaching staff, a committed administrative team, and a supportive parent community are integral to student learning at Springwood School.
